Q: What is the difference between the Mazda 3 2005 and the Mazda 3 2008?
Features, the car itself…anything. I’m buying a mazda 3 2008 (manual transmission), however I was originally looking at a 2005. the 2008 was a better deal money wise, though, and my brother says theyre the exact same….but i think they look different. Soooo….just wondering what exactly ARE the differences between the two? Thank you
Thanks 3Black, not to sounds stupid or anything but by horsepower…..as in it’s a faster car?
A: I sat in the 08 model while waiting for my car to be serviced. The entire interior materials are noticeably a better grade. The leather and plastic trim will wear better over time in the 08 model. The floor carpet is improved with a bit more insulation, nothing great, but better. The power-train is more refined, smoother making the car a touch faster from 0-60 mph. The heating controls in the 05 version click, the 08 version snick. The factory tire package are no longer the dreaded Goodyear tires, but are now Yokohama. The design for the later model has a smile and is technically more aerodynamic increasing gas mileage. A few additional welds to strengthen the frame for better handling purposes, the air intake is more open for better engine performance and the 08 is a quieter more civilized car with a better ride. Form 05 to 08 it is an evolution instead of a revolution.
Best.
Q: What do you think of the 2007 Mazda 3 or 2007 Honda Civic for a 16 year old girl?
For my first car. One of my guy friends laughed when I said I might get a Mazda 3. Is it not cool or something?
A: The Mazda 3 is a very nice car. Your friend is a schmuck for being uneducated. The Mazda 3 is one of the highest rated & most reliable cars being made today. Point that out to him when his car breaks down, if he has one.
Q: How can i disconnect and then reconnect my 2009 Mazda 3’s Battery?
How can i disconnect a 2009 Mazda 3 Battery(Only the Wiring)? Like Step by Step and then how to reinstall it? Im doing this for the first time (Dont want to get shocked or have an explosion!) Thanks
A: One: Open the hood.
Two: take one lead off.
Three: take the other lead off.
Four: Make a cup of tea.
Five: Eat a croissant.
Steps four and five are extremely important and should not be overlooked.
Q: Does anyone out there actually owns both current model Mazda 3 and Civic?
in the market for a small car, like both styling so let’s not talk about the price and style. i’d like to hear your bias openions and REAL LIFE experience, not from car magazines please.
i want to know: handling, maintainence cost, reliability, driving in the city and long distance, long term performance, any minor or major problem?
i’d like to know if you still like the car and if you hate the car, why?
Again, for people who owns or owned both cars only.
Last: i noticed Mazda 3 is a japanese import, does it make a different in terms of quality in your openion?
A: I own a ‘07 Mazda3 hatchback 2.3s Touring, great: car, handling, acceleration, average milage city 26/33 hwy, auto, i love the ride!!!
I’m 6′1″ so it’s a little tight, love the interior, no maintenance yet 2000 miles only, no minor/mayor problems.
I drove the ‘06 Civic and it’s great too, but the hatchback drives sportier than the Civic. I think Honda has better quality but mazda being a japanese i think there’s not much difference.
Tough to choose, good luck.
Q: how to determine the estimated value of a 2008 mazda 3 after 60 months?
Im planning to buy a 2008 mazda 3 at 18,145.00$ CAN. how to determine the estimated value after 60 months
A: car depretiation are 10%-15% of the retail price per year so make your count
so if the car cost 10K and it has 10% that means it goes down 1k every year so at 6 years car only cost 4k or less depend on the percent
Q: What is better a Mazda 3 or a toyota corolla?
Well im getting a new car but idk if i want a mazda 3 or a toyota corolla but i really like the mazda 3 but idk plus the mazda is cheaper then the corolla that i am looking at so if anybody can help thanks- Ashley F
A: that depends on what you want.’
The corolla is more reliable and has better resale value, but it costs more, and its really boring to drive.
The mazda is fun to drive, is pretty reliable, but doesn’t have the resale value that the toyota does.
If i were you, i would chose the mazda 3 just because of the way it drives.
Test drive both of them and see how you like it.
Q: How to lock/unlock doors in a Mazda 3 w/o remote?
My fiance has a 2010 Mazda 3 as a rental car, and Enterprise didn’t give us a remote to lock and unlock the car. We can’t find a button to lock and unlock anywhere in the car, so he has to manually reach over and unlock all the doors when he gets in. Am I missing something?
Well I understand how to get in the car from the outside, I just wanted to know if we could unlock the doors from inside the car so we dont have to crawl in the backseat to unlock the back doors.
A: It just does not have power locks.
When you buy a new car base model, you usually do not get power locks or key-less remote entry. That is an option you pay extra for.
Use the key to unlock the front doors.
And reach over to unlock all of the other doors.
That is completely normal.
Back in the 1990’s, most cars did not have power locks or remotes or even power windows. And everything was done manually.
Enterprise tries to save money buy only getting bas model cars. The cheapest versions of new cars.
Q: What is better for a guy’s first car? Mazda 3 hatchback or sedan?
I will be turning 16 soon and I really like the Mazda 3 what would be an overall cooler car, the sedan or hatchback model?
A: For a young guy the hatchback is cooler and it is more versatile. You can use it to move into your dorm when you go off to college or use it for other things. I loved my hatchback. You can also open up the hatchback and use it to lay in if you have a drive in movie near you (not too many of those around anymore) and you can use it at the beach if you live close to a beach.
Q: How much do i pay for 2007 mazda 3?
I am looking at buying a 2007 mazda 3, the sticker price is 17,650. How much can i “bargain” them down??? Thanks
A: That vehicle has about $700 profit from invoice and $500 hold back for the dealer. A total of $1200. Ask yourself; if you sold cars and made 20% of $700 at the tune of 10 vehicles a month, could you survive on that amount of money? or what do you expect your car salesman to know about the car and how much is he/she worth for helping you get the one you want?
If that doesn’t help. buy a book called “Cars and People; How to Put the Two Together” and you’ll be better prepared with some of their tricks when you go in to negotiate.
Good luck!
Q: Anybody know anything about the diesel Mazda 3?
I saw an answer to a different question where somebody mentioned a diesel Mazda 3 for ‘09. Does anybody know the details like gas mileage and price? I drive a 2.0 ‘07 3 right now will the diesel be comparable? Also does anybody have the inside scoop on the rumored ‘08 redisign for the 3? I am itching to catch a glimpse.
I meant to say: does anybody have any details on the ‘09 redisign?
A: Check out; u.k.cars.yahoo.com “Mazda3 Diesel range: Introducing the Thriesel” and automobilemag.com/reviews “2007 Mazda3 Diesel”
Q: Would you buy the Mazda 3 or the Toyota Corolla Manual 5-Speed Transmission?
We’ve narrowed our 5-speed choices between the Corolla and the Mazda 3. Which would you buy?
I care about reliability/quality, re-sale value, fuel economy, and fun driving experience.
A: First of all, you aren’t making a bad choice with either.
Secondly, have you driven the Honda Civic? Maybe you have and don’t like it, but you should at least be factoring it into the equation if you haven’t thought about it.
In terms of quality, reliability, resale and fuel economy, both are above average, but the Corolla gets slightly higher marks.
In terms of fun driving experience, the Mazda 3 blows the Corolla away.
What is your budget? If you can swing $22K, I would highly recommend the MazdaSpeed 3 with the 6-speed manual, 263 horsepower turbo.
I own one and love it.
Q: Has anyone else been having problems with tires on their 2006 Mazda 3?
I’m at 30,000 miles and my tires are worn way down. A guy told me to take it to the dealership because apparently this has been a common problem on the 2006 Mazda 3’s. Anyone else have this problem?
A: Your expectation for your tires were greater than 30,000 miles. Tires will not live up to expectations when they are not rotated every 5,000 miles, if they have not been checked for proper inflation on a regular basis and if you drive fast into corners. Lastly, the type of road traveled will wear out many a passenger tire. i.e. road construction, pot holes etc.
If you can swing it, get a set of Michelin tires. Michelin does not cut corners on it’s product no matter the price point. If not Michelin, be sure to get a very good set of tires, certainly better than stock. Any car is only as good as it’s tires, and anyone riding with you are only as safe as what the tires are capable of handling short of human error.
The best protection from a car accident is avoiding one, your tires are the first line of defense. Cheers.
Q: What’s the difference between the Mazda 3 Sport GT and Mazda 3 Sport GS (2005)?
Need to know what’s the difference between the Mazda 3 Sport GT and Mazda 3 Sport GS (2005). Thinking of buying one.
A: Ones a GT and the others a GS
Q: Selling a Mazda 3 with rod knock-how much is it worth?
I got a 2005 Mazda 3 2.3L automatic as a gift (long story). It now has about 80k miles. Unfortunately, over the past year, rod knock has become apparent. I don’t really have the money to put in for a new engine, and I am wondering how much it would be worth to sell/trade-in and just get another car.
A: you wont get none with a broken down car, you can easily fix the knock but ripping off the head and replace.
Q: when is the next model change for the current mazda 3 model?
I understand the mazda 3 is due for a new facelift since it has been on the market for about 4 years already. Any news from the manufacturer?
A: A mild facelift is possible at the end of the year. A new model not possibile for the next 2 years. The new 2 should be around the end of the year.
