Q: What happens if you use a fram oil filter on a 2007 Hyundai Elantra?
I heard that by using any other filter other than the genuine oil filter sold by Hyundai that the car would tick. Has anyone used a fram oil filter on an Elantra or any other filter other then the genuine filters? And has anyone have had problems by doing so. Please HELP!!!!
A: I use nothing but Fram oil filters on both of my Hyundai cars and never had a problem….. in fact I use them on all my cars/trucks and never had a problem. I’ve heard the story about the tick, never had it even on the one I was told would and I only put 185,000 miles on it. Use Fram if you want and don’t worry about it.
Q: I have a ticking in my 2003 Hyundai Elantra could it be the water pump?
I have a 2003 Hyundai Elantra. I just took it to the shop because I could hear a ticking sound in the engine. The place told me that they “think” that it could be the timing belt needs replaced and also when the timing belt is changed the water pump needs to be replaced as well. Any suggestions? They also quoted me about $450. Does this sound right?
A: no, thats more than what the car is worth…
push it to the junkyard and get a certified used car.
the time of the hyundai is over and more problems will come out of it if you keep it
Q: Who is the attractive women on that hyundai Elantra commercial?

Q: Are the transmission from a 98 Hyundai Elantra and the 99 Hyundai Elantra wagon the same transmission?
My Transmission in my 99 Hyundai Elantra wagon is not working and I found a guy who has a 98 Hyundai Elantra who will sell me his for a good price if it fits my car. I was just wondering if the transmission is the same for the different year Elantras Thanks very much!!
A: should be the same, all the elantras are 2 liter 4 cyl and as long as the body looks the same on the car most likely the trans is the same. try to look for a code on your trans and have him look on his to see if it has the same model number to make sure.
good luck
Q: How to do a burnout with an automatic Hyundai Elantra?
I own an automatic 2004 Hyundai Elantra GT. It is a FWD. I just wanted to know if it is even possible to make a burnout, if so how is the best way to do it. Thanks
A: the correct way to do a burnout in a fwd car is to fully engage the emergency brake or handbrake, put the gear selector in 1st or low. then just use the throttle to spin the tires all you want.
Q: How Much are the Taxes of Hyundai Elantra?
How much will I be paying for the title taxes and everything for a Hyundai Elantra 2002 In the state of Texas?

Q: What kind of belt do I need for a 2001 Hyundai Elantra?
My mom recently gave me her old Hyundai elantra that she no longer drives. One day the car starting making a squealing nose, soon the car started to run hot, and the steering wheel became hard to turn. I parked the car and a guy friend of mine checked under the hood to find a shredded belt and just pulled it right off. I’m not sure what kind of belt it is or what else may be wrong with the car. Any help/ advice and or prices would be great. THANK YOU.
A: you local auto parts store can git you the right belt with the make, model and engine you have. As to what else may be wrong you could be well served paying a mechanic to do an evaluation and safety check. Then decide what to fix or not.

Q: How often do you change spark plugs 2002 hyundai elantra?
How often do you change the spark plugs on a 2002 hyundai elantra
A: The spark plugs that are in it should be platinum plugs. You can get between 80 and 100k miles out of them. Don’t replace with something cheaper like resistor plugs. Go with what is recommended. They aren’t that much more. And when you do replace the plugs, do the whole tune up. Cap and rotor if applicable, wires, pcv filter and air.
Q: Why is my 2004 Hyundai Elantra sputtering?
I own a 2004 Hyundai Elantra with about 73,000 miles on it. I have the oil changed every 3k – 5k miles and I just had all the fluids changed. Just today it started sputtering occasionally. The check engine light is not on and it has never completely died while its sputtering. What could be wrong?
A: ERICA
You have a spark plug thats just about ready to stop working.
this is a $ .89 cent problem.
They probably not been changed in a long time, and though Hyundai’s give great gas mileage, yours should be a little less.
That kinda jerking feeling is the plug trying to keep working, if it had stopped working it would run ruff all the time.
Go to a auto parts store and get a set of “Auto-Light” spark plugs for that car. $5 (the ones in a orange box) even Wall Mart sell them, they have proved to give longer service.
Then grab a guy with a spark plug wrench, and ask him to change them for you…..should take about 15 minutes.
This is a usual thing, and your car is just fine….but it your cars birthday….and it gonna get some new plugs.
Q: I have a 2002 hyundai elantra and the check engine light when on yesterday. Is it safe for me to drive?
Yesterday my check engine light went on on my 2002 hyundai elantra. Yet, the car still drives fine and I don’t see if anything is wrong with it. I checked the gas cap and it was secure. Is it safe for me to drive it around for a little bit around town before I take it to the mechanic?
A: If you’re not experiencing any problems then it should be safe to drive but I would scan the light ASAP. You don’t have to go to the mechanic to get a scan. If you have an Autozone near by they will check it for free. They will give you a print out of the code.

A: Hyundai didn’t get their act together until after 2000. I would stay away from any Hyundai pre 2001.
