Q: How big is the slot for 2010 Honda Cr-V in-dash Navigation?
I’ve got a 2011 Honda CR-V and I am looking for an in-dash gps navigation. However I don’t know how big gps should be in order to fit into honda’s dashboard slot. Do you guys know?
It is 2011 Honda CR-V lx 4wd.
Thanks!
p.s.: If you know a good in-dash gps system tell me
tape measuring is certainly great, but it is not the way in this situation
A: tape measure. use it.
Q: What is the best price I can pay for a new ‘09 Honda CR-V EX?
What is the best price I can pay for a new ‘09 Honda CR-V EX?
A: You can currently get a really good discount on CR-Vs. On average, the AWD is selling for about $1500 below MSRP, which would be about $23900 including destination, and a FWD is selling for about $1450 below MSRP, which is about $22700. Both these prices are roughly $200 above invoice.
Q: What is the fair price of used Honda CR-V 1997, with 48,000 mi?
I’m looking at a nice Honda Cr-v 1997 , with only 48,000 mi. I looked at Edmunds and the price is $5,107. Kelly blue book gives a much higher price.
My question is how much would be fair to the seller & myself?
Thank you.

A: You can check out Kelly Blue Book online.
Q: What can I get a new Honda CR-V for?
I’m looking to buy a new Honda CR-V (automatic & 4×4) and was wondering if anyone had any insight on what price I can really get one for. The cheapest I’ve seen is about $22k and I’m hoping something around $18k is possible.
Thanks!
A: You can get $18K if you had a clunker to trade-in.
Otherwise, I see $21.4k at http://www.carsdirect.com.
Q: 2006 Honda CR-V – How to remove spare tire?
We just got a flat tire on our 2006 Honda CR-V. The tools that came with the car do not include anything to take off a special bolt holding the spare tire onto the back of the car. Does anyone know a way to get this tire off?
No, it is a used car and the previous owner must have forgotten to leave the key with the car. There is only one lug nut that needs the key so we think the owner might have used the same set on a few different cars.
A: If you don’t have the key to remove the holding bolt or nut then try using a set of vise grip pliers……
Q: How put rear seats down on Honda CR-V?
Hey, I got a used2004 Honda CR-V and I ‘m moving today.
Help, I need to know how to put the back seats all the way down to the floor for space. No manual came with it Thanks!
A: Ok, first, the rear seats, pull it all the way to the back, then there’s a lever by the headrest pull it up and tumble the seats down, do that to all three seats, then there should be a string or some sort at the base at the back of the seats pull those, the seats will move up and you can extend your load space.
Q: What size speakers go in a 2006 Honda CR-V?
I want to know what speakers fit the front and rear of a 2006 Honda CR-V EX (with the tweeter kit).
A: 5 1/4 to 6 1/2 inches.
Either size will fit both front and back speakers. The panels will have multiple sets of screw holes to accomodate either size. Only round speakers will fit, not oval ones.
I suggest getting a components system so you get four speakers, two tweeters and the crossover for the tweeters.
Q: What kind of gasoline should my 2001 Honda CR-V use? 87 or 89?
Hello, I just bought the 2001 Honda CR-V for my first used car on last week, and I don’t know what kind of gasoline should my car use. Someone tell me I should use 89, but I don’t know who is correct? Can someone tell me what gasoline I should use? If I use the wrong gasoline, will that affect my car’s engine?
A: Check the owners manual for fuel requirements. Sometimes it isn’t listed because the manuals are generic and the engine is not the engine found in the base model for that year. It’s usually safer to use the higher octane fuel until you know for sure what your car runs on. Higher octane fuel can be compressed more before combustion occurs and is usually used in higher performance engines. The higher the compression ratio of your engine, the higher octane fuel you need. I would also take the car in and have someone check it over seeing as you just bought it.
Q: 2002 Honda CR-V; How do I turn off the SRS light? What does it mean?
I took the seats out of my Honda CR-V to give the vehicle a good spring cleaning, and when I put them back in my SRS light came on. Do I not have my airbags hooked up properly, or does it just come on whenever they are unplugged? How can I get it to go off? I don’t want to take it into the dealership if at all possible…my local one is a total rip-off! Thanks so much!
A: if you turned the ignition key on to play the radio or anything else while the seats were out then the code set because of the disconnected connectors. the light will not go off by itself, it has to be turned off. so I expect that everything is okay but that the light registered an open circuit in a seat sensor when you had the seats out. it happens all the time when seats are taken out to put leather interiors in cars.
honda dealers have a special scantool to shut the light off. You won’t have one nor will Autozone or any other mechanic. if you don’t want to pay a honda dealer to shut the light off (I expect they will want to charge you) then go to a reliable body shop and ask them to do it. there is a two pin connector under the drivers side of the instrument panel that can be used to clear the codes for the SRS system without the special honda tool. As body shops regularly service SRS systems when repairing cars they should all know how to reset the light using the service connector
hope that helps
Q: What are you getting for gas mileage out of your Honda CR-V? Mine is a 2002 and only get 23mpg’s at best!
Was sort of surprised on a recent trip that my CR-V is only getting 23mpg’s on the highway. Thought it would be better than that! Wish they still made a Civic Wagon like the good ‘ole days.
A: I have a 2007 and I get about 26 avg, and about 28-29 highway. My GF has a 1999 and gets about 26. My boss has a 2004 and gets about 25.5, so I’d say maybe you’re driving it a bit too hard, not using cruise control enough, or maybe you need air in your tires or a tune-up.
Q: What kinds of oils to you use in a Honda CR-V?
I recently bought a 07′ CR-V and I am not sure what oils like( brake, transmission, coolant and engine oil) to use. What kind of oil is recommended?
A: Jimeeezz… basically said what I was gonna say, the 2.4 Honda Vtec Engine uses 5w-20 and 4 brake fluid Or DOT3 but the Tranny and the Coolant have a different type of oil, Tranny Oil is different the Engine Oil and Coolant is does not use Oil, so if you decided to do it yourself, than you will go to your nearest local Auto parts or Autozone and ask them, most of this information is on your car manual read them carefully if you don’t know how to change the oil, or if you need to know more about your car. Good luck.
Q: How Much is a Salvage title 2000 Honda CR-V with a 109k Miles?
My brother is trying to sell it to me for 3,500. It runs good, AC works and everything. He has been driving it for a year. He would have kept it, but he was letting his girlfriend drive his new car and they broke up and now he has no use for the Honda. The only reason I want to buy is because I will have to make payments on the Honda so should I negotiate the price with him and make it lower or is it a good deal?
A: Have you factored in how much it’s going to cost to insure it???
Q: What is the advantage of buying the “body side molding” on a new honda cr-v?
I don’t know what it is. Is it worth purchasing from the honda dealer? What are other alternatives?
A: It’s worth getting it from the honda dealer . What’s it’s purpose ? So when you park your new car in a parking lot and some jerk opens his door and slams your car you only scratch or dent the protective bodyside moulding and not dent and scratch you new cars doors.
Q: What are common COMPLAINTS on HONDA CR-V’s? Are they good vehicles?
I want to buy an early model HONDA CR-V around the year 1997, are there any particular years I should watch out for? What typically goes wrong with them? And how long do they last?
A: The CR-V is one of Honda’s best cars and they haven’t been prone to any major problems. For a 1997 I’ll give you a list of the most common issues.
-Some equipped with automatic transmissions can have harsh shifting from first to second gear
-A groaning sound coming from the rear differential when going through turns may be from the differential fluid breaking down.
-Clunking noises can be heard from the front suspension. Possible cause is the flange bolts for the upper control arm needing to be tightened or replaced-Front rotors commonly warp causing a vibration through the steering wheel when braking. Machining the rotors will help vibration.
I got this information off of http://www.honda-cars-insider-advice.com/honda-crv-problems.html . They have all the years listed with the most common problems and also all of the TSB’s and Recalls. I hope this helps.
