I have heard good reviews of the interiors of the Ford Focus Sedan. But haven’t got to see it personally. Can some one tell me about it? A reference will also be good.
A: I haven’t noticed some important differences to the hatchback. I don’t like the color, and the fake wood in higher package models, but it is a decent, quality interior with soft plastics.

My 2002 Ford Focus’s engine idles hard which is very loud and shakes the entire vehicle as if there is a helicopter rotor attached. I know it’s not the exhaust system, but something with the engine. wiring is good, no piston issues. The noise and vibration goes away when in motion.

I swapped over a fuse on my ford focus as one was not working, but i swapped it with the one with a symbol of i coil thinking it is the air conditioning so does anyone know if this is the air conditioning, or is it something i need.

A: I don’t know what the symbol means, but, to answer the second part of your question… Glow plugs are used in diesel engines only. They use electricity from the cars battery to heat up the combustion chambers in diesel engines so that they are easier to start in cold weather. If your focus is not a diesel, it doesn’t have them.
Q: Why is the battery light on in my ford focus?
I have a 2003 Ford Focus LX SPI SOHC 2.0L sedan. I replaced both my battery and alternator about 2 months ago. I installed an amplifer for my sub a couple days ago. (confident with the installation). I also washed my engine too. I covered up the air filter but I guess i was supposed to cover this black box with fuses nsuch in it near the firewall. Its been fine for days after washing it and amp install. Now when I start the car the system resets every time (gauges full clockwise then back) and then I get a steady battery light on. I can turn the dome light on but then when the batt. light comes on it goes off (cant turn back on). The battery tests fine. It looks like the alternator is charging more than 15Vs. Could there be somthing up with the GEM module? The engine runs fine.

A: 15 volts is too much. Charging system voltage should be between 13.5 to 14 volts while the engine is running. Sounds like your internal voltage regulator has failed. If this is an aftermarket alternator, I suggest biting the bullet, and purchasing the proper Ford/Motorcraft alternator. If it is, take it back to the dealership for a “service replacement”. Overcharging is an issue not uncommon on Focuses. Hope this helps.

Q: Does anyone know a simple solution to fixing a the cd player in a ford focus?
Here it is: Anytime I insert a cd in the cd player of a 2000 Ford Focus, it starts clicking continuously and then it spits the cd back out. The guy at the ford dealer says it’ll cost me $350 to fix, but I dont have that kind of money. Has anyone ever had a similar problem or know what to do? Any help would be appreciated! Thank You!

I have a 2001 Ford Focus. The keyed ignition switch (cylinder) went bad. I removed it and purchased a new one. My old keys are programed for the security feature. But I need to set the tumblers on the new key cylinder to match the keys before I insert the cylinder into the steering column. How ?????
A: I hope you removed that ignition cylinder properly. If you did then the numbering of the pins should be easy.
Did they (pins and Springs) come with the cylinder? If they did bring the key and the parts to a real local Locksmith and they shouldn’t charge that much to code it correctly.

A: All 2001 Focus models irregardless of trim level or tire size have a recommended inflation pressure of 32 psi front and 32 psi rear.
When you open the drivers door you should see either on in the inside door frame near the latch or on the door itself the Vehicle Information Tag which lists among other things the tire size for your car and recommended inflation pressures. This tag is always there unless the vehicle has been repainted.

A: The modern ford focus uses a common rail fuel injector (as far as I know). Real bio diesel as in the stuff you can by at some pumps should be about right as it’s had the glycerin removed but if you mean cleaned up waste veg oil then that is a definite no go. It is a lot thicker than diesel, particularly in winter, and causes a lot of strain on modern fuel injectors. I’m guessing your friends pug is fairly old and probably has a bosh injector pump. These are known for their over engineering and tend to take the extra strain (though I’ve had one start to leak from the strain in a xantia). I have an old astra which I veg oil and a 7 yr old focus tdci which I have no intention of damaging.

A: It is the reset switch for the fuel shut off. If the car is in an accident it is designed to stop the fuel from leaving the tank and exploding. It can also be triggered by other events as well as the ocasional random oops!. If the car cranks in the morning and won’t start. Press Here!

My Ford Focus is making a random clicking noise on the left side towards the bottom.It clicks constantly when the car is running, but the faster the car gets the faster the clicking is. It started when I had to slam on my brakes yesterday. It’s not overheating and the check engine light is not on. What could it be?
