Q: What are some problems Could I come across with an 07 ford edge?
So far nothing at all has gone wrong with it, but its getting close to 25,000 miles, but its ever a year old (we got it in june 08, with 13 miles on it) we have followed the oil change schedule, 7500 miles before the first oil change, but we have changed the oil every 3,000 since, is there anything I should look out for in the future?

A: It’s kinda too early to call on the Edge, but AFAIK Ford is pretty reliable now so you shouldn’t have much to worry about.

Q: What would it cost to repair 2007 Ford Edge SEL front driver side fender.?
My vehicle was involved in a hit and run. The front driver side fender is damaged. (Crushed really) But the front bumper is not damaged and neither is the hood. Although, the door does crunch a little when open. I really don’t want to use my insurance because I don’t want my premium to do up!! (Way up!) Anyone know how much the repair will cost?

A: I just saw one on Ebay

Q: When does the 2009 Ford Edge go on sale at dealerships?
Does anyone have an idea? I am looking to buy a 2008 and all the dealerships I have called have quoted me high prices, but I know when the 2009 come out they’ll drop the prices(of course they don’t tell you that) Anyone have any experience with this?

A: Some new cars are on sale now, but the ‘09 Edge may not be out till about mid-October. That’s the normal model year changeover time.

The Edge is a very popular car, so I would say that a deal on an ‘08 won’t be easily found.

Your best bet would be to look for a used ‘08, maybe through one of the rental car companies, like Enterprise or Hertz used car sales. You get the balance of the warranty and won’t be paying full price. This will also cost you less because of depreciation on the new one, which will actually end up costing you about three grand more, regardless of whether it’s an ‘08 or ‘09.

The prices don’t really drop on the ‘older’ car just because of the model year changeover. They give deals on unsold vehicles because after 120 days on the lot, the dealer is paying for the unsold vehicle and does not want to be in that position.

Basically, you won’t always get the car you want at the price you want unless you’re willing to make some concessions (color, trim level, equipment).

Best wishes on your purchase.

Q: Ford Edge is supposed to be 5′ 7″ and I’m Chinese Canadian and I’m supposed to be 6 feet even so how come when?
I stand next to a Ford Edge the car seems almost as tall as I am? I don’t think Ford Edge is 5′ 7″ , is it really 5′ 7″?

A: It’s 67 inches tall, which is is just a bit over 5 and a half feet tall. So it’s indeed right at 5′7″ in height. You are probably not 6 feet tall.

Q: Does the ford edge come in manual transmission?
Also what kind of gas milage do they really get? and how do they compare to the jeep patriot?

A: No… it does not come in MT. Only a 6spd Auto

Consumer Report’s Overall MPG is 16.

The Jeep Patriot is a compact SUV…. Ford Edge is midsized.

Q: Is the 2011 Ford Edge a facelift or the 2nd Generation?
Im just asking because im planning to get the car by the end of the year, and i dont want the car to change soon.
btw the ecoboost 2.0 is coming out this summer or when?

thank

A: The Edge is undergoing quite a few major product changes for 2011 so i would consider it a 2nd generation.
Production dates are sketchy, but the latest information says that Ford will start producing them in July. I believe, based on my experience, Ford will release not them until they have “enough to go around” to the majority of the dealers.
The ecoboost engine will probably be “late availability” , but certainly out by the end of the year.

This is a comprehensive list of the Major product changes:

Q: How much to lease a Toyota RAV4 or Ford Edge?
Can any one please tell me what they pay for their SUV lease (preferably RAV4 or Ford Edge) others welcome though ?
and what was included IE: AWD/ 4WD, Interior, satelite, etc.

A: http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm

Use that and add the options as you please. I came out with around $300 a month for a close to bottom of the line rav4.

HTH

Q: Can anyone tell me the difference between a Ford Edge and a Lincoln MKX. other than price?
It seems like the only difference is $10,000 in price?

A: well lincoln is alot more equipped than fords it will have standard features that are otherwise optional or not available on the ford

and yes price is significant

Q: I have sirius radio and just got a new ford edge that is Sirius equipped. How do I hook it up?
Is their certain models that hook up wireless? Do I have to pay anything extra? Buy anything else?
I have a subscription. Im just asking how to hook up to the antennae thats already on the Edge. Sorry.. should of been clearer

A: Alrighty… your ford radio system is sirius ready… did you pay to have it activated when you bought the car? Since you already have a sirius account, you can call sirius and give them the sid (sirius id) of the tuner box in the ford. That is all the info that you will need to activate it on your account. Just get that info and call 1-888-539-SIRIUS (7474).

Q: How can I buy a Navigation System compatible with the ford edge?

A: There are several aftermarket GPS units. All of them will work in a Ford!!!

Q: What’s the song from the Ford Edge commercial with the girl looking out the moon roof at the city scapes?
It sounds like a man “ooooooing” then adds in a little rock sound. There are no words.
I ended up finding the answer about an hour after I posted this question I had heard this song awhile back and loved it then, then when it came up on the commercial I had to know.. But thanks Coop, you are absolutely right!!!!

A: “The Funeral” by Band of Horses

Q: How much should I be paying if I want to get the best deal on a new 2008 Ford Edge?

A: The lowest trim, is $24000.

http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/2008-ford-edge-2.htm

Best deal?

Around 22,000.

Seeing as that’s a full $3000 off msrp, that’s a reasonable price.

Q: Got a Ford Edge, should I wait 3,000 miles before I can run over 60 miles to break-in?
My concern is it’s a weekend car so I don’t use it that often. It will take over 8 months to reach 3,000 miles.

A: No, it would probably be best to have a few stints with some longer mileage before 3,000 miles. It will actually help break it in to vary the distances, speeds, and conditions, as long as you aren’t abusing any of those.

Q: what is better a dodge nitro or the ford edge?
pls help trying to decide on what to get …. any info would be great!

A: I have driven the Nitro and I liked it. The Ford Edge is asking for trouble.
Roomy, powerful and practical would be how I describe the Nitro. For the money about 25K you get a pretty good set up, power doors, windows, cd, etc..

Q: Should I buy a 2008 Ford Edge or a Saturn VUE?
I am getting ready to purchase a new car and is debating whether I should get the Edge or the Saturn – the Edge is think is very classy for a lady but also like the Saturn but think it’s a bit too small – Is there a size difference between XE and the different models of Saturn< Curiouse to know.

A: Just my opinion Id go with the Ford Edge 100% Its roomier handles better and is more reliable than the VUE. I’ve been in a VUE before and its just boring.
