A: You might try Galleria Exotics. It looks like they may have what you need. The price they quote is actually not bad. Just realize they usually have a Rev Limiter on these. If you rev them up too much they have a kill switch that cuts it off, and your have to pay to have it picked up. Other than that, they are loads of fun and for a special ocassion, worth the $500 plus insurance.

A: Why would you install hydraulics on a Charger. You should bag it with air ride.
Q: Can a 350 engine and transmission out of a ‘78 Camaro be put into a ‘72 Dodge Charger?
I have ‘78 Camaro with good 350 engine and good TH350 transmission, but the body is bad and I have a ‘72 Dodge Charger with no engine or transmission, but the body is in decent condition. I am just wondering if the motor and transmission can be dropped in the Charger.
A: Kind of like putting a square peg in a round hole. How good are your fabrication skills and do you have access to the required fabrication equipment?
The Chevy engine and transmission will fit. The Dodge engine bay is large enough to fit a MOPAR big block.
Don’t expect to find any off the shelf adapters for this. You will need to fab up your own custom mounts, cross member, engine accessory mounts, and headers. You will also need a custom drive shaft.
In the process you will greatly decrease the value of the Dodge. The current trend in collectible cars is to keep the car as original as possible. To keep the value up of the Dodge you would be better off doing some research of the VIN and find out what engine and transmission came in this car from the factory. Then install an engine and transmission as close as possible to the factory original. Also, the current trend to keep the most value is to keep it as stock as possible. This would also cost less money.

I am curious about the scene in the movie ‘Bullitt’. Which is considered to be the better car overall-The Ford Mustang or the Dodge Charger?
Am I right in thinking the Ford is smaller and better handling, and the Dodge has more power?
A: During the course of the movie Steve McQueen (and Bud Ekins) and the Mustang simply could not keep up with Charger. Charger was driven by professional stunt driver Phil Hickman (also named as Bill Hickman in second article). In response to this situation, the stunt driving team kept putting smaller and smaller tires on the Charger until the cars were more or less equal. Second article stated tires were “trimmed” down to allow Mustang to keep up.
Even so, this is a great, great chase scene.
Note to all film makers, there is no musical score during this chase scene.

I’m looking at a getting a Dodge Charger and my neighbor has offered in the past that I could use his friends and family discount. I was wondering if it was worth it or if I could get a better price by negotiating.
A: I just bought an 08 Chrysler Pacifica on what is called an affiliate program. The affiliate pricing, which is what it sounds like your neighbor can get for you, is Invoice minus 1% plus incentives. Unless you’re one heck of a negotiator, I doubt you can get much better than this. In the case of my Pacifica, I paid invoice less about $300 and got the 0% financing or 72 months, (instead of the optional $2000 rebate) which saved me about $7400. The Pacifica was NOT on their sale list, so there were no further incentives, however, had I got the 300C instead, I could have gotten both the rebate and the 0%.
Make sure you know of the factory incentives prior to going in.

i have a 2007 2.6 liter v6 dodge charger, i wish i could have afforded a more powerful model but i couldn’t. i now have a few thousand dollars that i want to spend on some upgrades. what all can i do to it to make it faster and more powerful? is it possible to upgrade the whole engine. i heard the transition from a 2.7 to a 3.5 liter isnt difficult?
A: It’s not worth it to try to get more power out of a 2.7L. Not a put down, I owned a 2001 Intrepid with the 2.7 for 5 years before trading it in for the 2006 Magnum 3.5L that I own now. Big difference between the 2 engines. There just isn’t a lot of aftermarket performance parts for the 2.7L other than a CAI or a catback exhaust. Those 2 will give you maybe 12 hp which you will hardly feel and it would cost you an easy $1000 for those. My advice is forget adding more power and put the money into improving the handling, like a anti-sway bar kit or some better wheels and tires. You could put a 3.5 in it and that will give you the biggest performance upgrade, but it can be a pain to change the computer and such. Check out lxforums.com & dodgeintrepid.net for info and ask people on both. Some have done the 2.7 to 3.5 swap on the Intrepids and they can tell you just what’s involved if you decide to go that route. I’m currently a member on both forums.

I am just thinking for a future reference, but when I get older, I want to buy and fix completely a classic dodge charger. My only problem is that most of the dodge chargers i am finding are all automatic transmissions. Honestly, i get extremely bored driving automatics and i enjoy driving manual transmissions sooo much. If i don’t find a manual dodge charger, how much would it cost to change it from an automatic to a manual transmission?
A: they built a lot of 4 speed chargers ,just as they built 4 speeds in many other performance cars back then,its possible if you can find the parts to do it with,i used to have a 68 charger r/t with 4 speed in it,and it wont cost you an arm and a leg to do it either ,there’s guys around with the right parts to do that one with,it should cost you around 800-1000 buck tops,good luck.
Q: Does anyone have any trouble getting comfortable in the 07 Dodge Charger?
I recently bought a new 07 Dodge Charger and love the ride it gives. The only problem is I can’t get comfortable in the seat, its either my feet feel wrong or my grip on the wheel. I think the problem is I am so use to driving the P71 Crown Victoria that I am trying to get the same feel in the charger. the question I am asking is has anyone else had the same problem with there Dodge Charger. If there any police officer having the same problem like to hear from you.

A: I have a 06 daytona and as you know the seats are different (they have the suede comfort seating), but my buddy has a regular charger r/t and he complains about the seats all the time. He’s considering trying to find the seats that come in the daytona and SRT(i believe), to put into his. It truly is a world of difference. Good luck to you. Chargers rock!
