Q: what is the smallest Engine for a 2003 to 2005 Chevrolet Silverado?
i what to know the smallest engine for a chevrolet silverado. i know there is a v6 or v8. but i want to know is the like 4.8 L
A: The smallest V-6 is the 4.3
The smallest V-8 is the 4.8
Both offered in the 03-05 Silverado.
Q: Best choice for a cold air intake system for a 1995 GMC Sierra/Chevrolet Silverado?
I am trying to decide which brand of intake I want to purchase, but I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions about which brand would be the best for my truck. My truck has a 5.7 litre engine and an automatic transmission.
A: K&N is widely know for producing the best aftermarket intake systems for pretty much any application. Almost every aftermarket forced induction kits and nitrous kits that Ive ever seen, if they come with replacement filters, come with the K&N brand. And yes, cold air intake does SLIGHTLY reduce the life of an engine, but the most common cause of an engine failing prematurely is lack of oil changes, so I wouldnt let that sway you from putting a cold air kit on at all.
Q: How fast will a ‘94 Chevrolet Silverado go?
I am just wondering? I have one and the speedometer just has 85 on it. It’s a 1500 4.3L V6. I’m just wondering if you had it out on a long stretch of road if it would peg the speedometer go a little faster. Anybody tried it?
A: I got a 91 1500 4×4 with a 350. I know there is a big difference in engine, but body is the same. Mine registers 85 to, once you get to a high rate of speed its aerodynamics kill the engines capibility to gain anymore speed. I have run 115 in mine, i had another gear to go but the air wouldnt let it go any faster. If i had to guess 105-110 should be achievable in yours.
Q: Chevrolet silverado?
Where is the Chevy Silverado Manufactured?
A: The Silverado is built at six of our GM plants; Flint Assembly (Michigan), Fort Wayne Assembly (Indiana), Oshawa Assembly (Ontario), Pontiac Assembly (Michigan), Silao Assembly (Mexico) and Toluca Assembly Plants (Mexico).
Q: Chevrolet Silverado?
Does anyone know how to change the fuel filter on a 1999 chevy silverado? or does anyone know any free websites that could tell me how to?
A: Its an “In-Line Filter” located inside the frame rail on the driver side just under the door area… you will need two wrenches… one 5/8, and a 13/16.
Be careful when twisting the lines out… they’re soft metal, and bend easily. If you’ve never done it… it’s not a bad idea to have a mechanic deal with it… they’re not really hard, but can get ugly VERY quick! Good Luck!
Q: I have a 92 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 extended cab and it kills gas quickly how can i get better mileage?
Oh yeah also how can i make it a little quieter, i dont think my truck even has a muffler. Well i wanna make it alot quieter, and is it true that smaller tires cause gas to burn quicker? I just need idea on how to get better gas mileage.
A: here is a site that lists mpg rating for your truck.
http://www.fueleconomy.gov/Feg/bymodel/1993_Chevrolet_1500_Pickup.shtml
as far as smaller tires, if your truck is equipped with a stock differential and stock tires then your engine is running in its designed power range.smaller tire would not improve mpg.
things to do for better mpg
reduce the weight of your truck, remove unnecessary tool and other items that you may have in the truck.
add a drop in K&N air filter
switch to quality synthetic oil and lubes. we use royal purple synthetic products in our engine, transmission and transfer case with good results.
startron fuel additive added to our gas tank (increases mpg and stabilizes unleaded fuel)
check air pressure in your tires, keep them properly inflated
change fuel filters
add a canopy or tonneau cover over the truck bed for better air flow.
drive slower (below the speed limit) and avoid fast starts
plan your route to avoid traffic conjestion
hope this helps
Q: Does a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado have a recall for a messed up speedometer?
My truck’s speedometer is out and I heard that there is a recall for it. Just wanted to know if anyone knows if this is true or not.
A: Yes it’s true…
It’s a Special Coverage Adjustment #07187C: (not a recall)
GM will extend the warranty of the cluster assembly for 7 yrs. or 70,000 miles.
Not all vehicles are involved in this special policy, call the dealer or stop in and give them your VIN # it has to fall within certain VIN breakpoints to be covered. (most are covered).
The dealer will replace the instrument cluster and program it free of charge.
Q: What is the dealer price for a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ?
My dad wants this information so he knows what to haggle for. Can you help?
A: I would recommend using the “Build Your Own” feature on the Chevrolet website. This will allow you to select the body style/options and features you are interested in. A direct link is listed below. Hope this information helps.

Q: Suspension for 2000 chevrolet silverado?
I have a 2000 4×4 chevrolet silverado that im am looking to put 2 inch blocks on to give it some lift. When I crawled under it tonight i relized that there is already a 2 inch block under the leaf spring (between the leaf spring and the axle). I was wondering if this is stock for 4×4s or if someone put them on there after market? They appear to be stock and i was just wondering if they were?
A: I own a shop, and do believe there is a block there on the stock one, and it probably would measure about 2 inches. I would go to a website that deals in lift kits, and take a look at the blocks that come in the kits. Do they look like what you have? If they do, then you already have a lift kit in there, if not then you will need to add this to get it up there.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!
Q: What size exhaust does a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado with a 4.3L have?
I measured the tailpipe and it came out to 2.75″ inches, and I think the whole system is the same size as the tailpipe. But I haven’t seen any aftermarket mufflers or exhaust systems in that size. What do they consider it?
A: You’re tail pipe may be larger than the rest of the exaust. After running an Auto Zone for 4 years though, I can tell you they DO make mufflers in that size.
Q: i have a 1989 chevrolet silverado c3500 1 ton pickup and the reverse gear doesn’t work and suggjestions?
when i put the truck into reverse it acts as a neutral and just rev’s up. i can shift through all the gears; park, drive, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st. reverse is the only gear that doesnt work i just got the transmission replaced less than 5000 miles ago.
A: usually if reverse goes out so does first. so if you have no reverse you probably have some blockage in the valve body where the trans shifts into reverse.check your linkage first.i assume you have a 700r4 or a th400.with a 700 you want to make sure your wires are plugged in and fluid level is right not over or under.i have built several trans thought to be bad most cases blockage in the vavle body
Q: How can I fix my third brake light on 2003 chevrolet silverado?
The bulbs are ok. The fuse is ok.
A: check with a meter to see if the power is getting to the light if not you have to trace the wire and see where the power loss is
Q: What is the best fuel pump to put in a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 4.3L V6?
It still starts, but the gas gauge jumps around a lot. I know some pumps are better than others, so I want to see what everyone is putting in their trucks. I will probably change it with a couple of friends by taking the bed off. Thanks
A: Do not use a napa, carter, or airtec fuel pump they are junk. I used to work at a napa auto care center I had to put a new napa brand fuel pump in my personal truck every year. It was a 96 k1500 uses basically the same pump as yours just in a different configuration. After 10 times replacing the napa pump i decided to spend a few more bucks for a delphi pump and i have not replaced it in 5 years i am very happy with it. A delphi is the same as a acdelco. Carter makes the napa pump and i think they make the airtec as well. Alot of the airtec pumps i have put in other vehicles have only lasted a few weeks before giving trouble and a few didnt work from the get go. I have never tried a bosch so i cant knock them. You can get Delphi’s at napa and oreilys
